Smashup Sports utilizes a form of scoring players based off of the standard scoring method. There are a few variations compared with the standard scoring so please review the following information carefully. Keep in mind that Smashup Sports does NOT incorporate PPR or half-PPR scoring.
All data for player statistics are gathered through our third party data provider and all scoring calculations are based off of this data. Smashup Sports is not responsible for the accuracy, nor for any corrections, changes, and updates to the data that is provided.
QB/RB/WR/TE
For all players with a QB, RB, WR, or TE designation, scoring is calculated in the following way.
PASSING
Every passing yard = 0.04pts
Every passing TD = 4pts
Every passing 2pt conversion = 2pts
RUSHING
Every rushing yard = 0.1pts
Every rushing TD = 6pts
Every rushing 2pt conversion = 2pts
RECEIVING
Every receiving yard = 0.1pts
Every receiving TD = 6pts
Every receiving 2pt conversion = 2pts
MISC
Passing interception = -2pts
Fumbles lost = -2pts
Scenario 1
Jalen Hurts (QB) has the following statline: Threw for 267yds, 3 TDs, but had 1 interception. He also ran the ball for 112 yds and 1 TD.
Score = 267 * 0.04 (passing yds) + 3 * 4 (passing tds) + 1 * -2 (interception) + 112 * 0.1 (rushing yards) + 1 * 6 (rushing TD) = 37.88pts
Scenario 2
Christian McCaffrey (RB) has the following statline: 156 yards rushing with 2 rushing TDs, 2 lost fumbles, 67 yds receiving with 1 receiving TD.
Score = 156 * 0.1 (rushing yds) + 2 * 6 (rushing tds) + 2 * -2 (fumbles) + 67 * 0.1 (receiving yds) + 1 * 6 (receiving tds) = 36.3pts
Scenario 3
Cordarrelle Patterson (RB) is an all purpose player and the Falcons like to utilize him all over the field. Here is his statline: 89yds rushing, 56yds receiving with 1 receiving TD, 45yds passing with 1 passing TD.
Score = 89 * 0.1 (rushing yds) + 56 * 0.1 (receiving yds) + 1 * 6 (receiving TD) + 45 * 0.04 (passing yds) + 4 * 1 (passing TD) = 26.3pts
K
For all players with a K designation, scoring is calculated in the following way.
Every FG made (0-39yds): 3pts
Every FG made (40-49yds): 4pts
Every FG made (50+): 5pts
Every FG missed: -1pt
Every extra point made: 1pt
Every extra point missed: -1pt
Scenario 1
Jake Elliott (K) goes 2 for 2 on extra points and 3 for 4 on field goals, making field goals of 29yds, 31yds, and 46yds, but misses one at 48yds.
Score: 2 * 1 (extra point) + 2 * 3 (FG between 0-39yds) + 1 * 4 (FG between 40-49yds) + 1 * -1 (missed FG) = 11pts
Scenario 2
Brett Maher (K) goes 1 for 3 on extra points and 1 for 3 on FGs making a field goal at 35yds but missing a 29yd and 51yd field goals.
Score: 1 * 1 (extra point) + 2 * -1 (missed extra point) + 1 * 3 (FD between 0-39yds) + 2 * -1 (missed FGs) = 0pts (scores can be 0 or even negative)
