Welcome to the SmashUp Fantasy Sports weekly tournaments. This article covers the overview of the tournaments. If you have additional questions, please contact support by clicking on the icon in the lower right hand corner.
SmashUp Fantasy Sports offers one or more weekly tournaments that users can play. Each Smashup tournament is mapped to an NFL week. Tournaments are unlocked at the beginning of the new time period - usually 12:01am ET on Wednesday of the week and ends after the last game of the week is played (usually late Monday night for Monday Night Football). Occasionally the new time period will start at 12:01 ET on Tuesday of the week instead. Check on the site to see when new tournaments appear.
Users can enter a number of lineups based on the number of entries they are allocated. Some tournaments will have 3 or more while others are single entry. The number of entries are set underneath the details section of each Tournament home page.
The standard budgets are $50,000 for players and $12,000 for SmashCards. You cannot use the SmashCards budget for players and vice versa. However, occasionally some tournaments will have different budgets - all details will be described in the details section for each Tournament.
The standard lineup consists of 9 players with positional limits - 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 1 FLEX (either a RB, WR, or TE), 1 K, and 1 DEF. However, some tournaments may have different positional limits or player limits. All details will be described in the details section for each tournament. You do NOT have to fill all positions. That is a strategy that some users play in conjunction with the SmashCards.
Lineup entries are AUTOSAVING!
This means that you do not need to click "Submit" or "Confirm" or anything like that. All changes to your lineups are automatically saved and entered into the tournament. If you start an entry and do not select any player or cards, that entry will still be entered into the tournament - you would just have a score of 0 for that entry.
You may edit any players/cards in your entries up until the point that the real life NFL game starts. Once the game starts in real life, you will no longer be able to edit that player or add/remove any cards associated with that player. We lock players based on the scheduled start time - not the time that the game actually starts. So if a game is scheduled to start at 1pm ET but kickoff isn't until 1:05pm ET, the player will still be locked starting at 1pm ET.
Once games have started, you can view the scoreboard tab on the main Tournament page. At the end of the week, once the last games are completed (usually late Monday night), the scoreboard will be finalized. That will be the official tournament result for the week. The top placing entries will be awarded prizes based on the prize payout structure specified for the tournament.
Prizes are awarded by entry not by user. So if a user is particularly skillful and places 1st, 2nd, and 3rd with their 3 entries, then they will win the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes. In the case of a tie - the players will split the combined prize pool of the two positions. If 2 players tie for 5th, they will split the combined 5th and 6th place prizes, while the next highest player will get the 7th place prize.
All prizes that are cash are added to your account. This process will usually occur a day or two after the tournament is complete but can take up to a week after the conclusion of the tournament. As your account grows, you can request a cash withdrawal payout whenever you wish provided your account balance is > $0. To Withdraw, simply click on your Settings, go your Wallet and click Withdraw. That will send us a message to start the process. Expect to hear back from us in 24 hours.
